Abnormal PSA

The Urology Service provides consultation with patients to determine the need to pursue an abnormal PSA count. If further diagnostic testing is indicated, imaging capabilities are available in the hospital to define the prostate, and if needed, image-directed prostate biopsies can be performed.

Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy & Voiding dysfunction

Diagnostic equipment and medical and surgical prostate therapies are available to address problems of voiding dysfunction related to benign enlarged prostate growth (BPH).

Urology Cancer

We are focused on the early detection and accurate diagnosis of urological cancers; the most common being prostate or bladder but also kidney, testes and penis. These cancers can be diagnosed early through routine urological check-ups. Full assessment of the prostate and directed screening for prostate cancer is available. Painless blood in the urine is the most common way of presentation for bladder and urothelial cancer; haematuria screening is also available to rule out this disease or achieve an early diagnosis. Curative and palliative treatment of urological malignancies will be available using a multidisciplinary approach.

Erectile Dysfunction / Impotence

Erectile dysfunction diagnosis and instruction of the patient in specific impotence treatment modalities occurs in a clinic that allows for privacy and confidentiality. Causes of impotence and erectile dysfunction treatment options including medication and surgical therapies are available and are addressed in this erectile dysfunction clinic.

General Urology

Urological disorders not included in one of the other subdivisions are also addressed. Such urology disorders would include but are not limited to urinary tract infections; dysfunctional voiding, hernia, benign scrotal conditions (hydrocele, epididymal cyst, varicocele…) and benign penile conditions (phimosis, penile lesions…).

Female Urology

Female incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction and recurrent urinary tract infections are addressed. Sophisticated diagnostic equipment is available to define the problem along with the latest medical and surgical urology treatments for the disorders.

Incontinence

Male and female incontinence evaluations are performed. The specific diagnosis may require Urodynamic. The full spectrum of incontinence treatment is available including pelvic floor exercises and/or biofeedback, medical therapy and surgical procedures including those from the most minimally invasive up to artificial sphincter.

Kidney/Bladder Stones

The treatment of kidney stones and bladder stones is accomplished by minimally invasive techniques. Percutaneous, endourologic and laser technology allow for the removal of stones without the need for an incision or, in selected cases, using only a keyhole incision.

Vasectomy & Circumcision

Vasectomy procedures are performed under local anaesthesia and using the “non scalpel technique”. This is the most minimally invasive way to perform a vasectomy and the one with least complications. Patients will be able to go home 30 minutes after the procedure. Circumcisions can be performed under local or short general anaesthesia using plastic surgery and reconstruction techniques achieving the best possible functional and cosmetic result.
