Internal Medicine is committed to high-priority patient care. It is dedicated to coordinating the communication between referring physicians to enhance patient care in a supportive setting and challenging learning environment.

The general internist acts not only as a diagnostician but also a consultant in disease prevention and health promotion. Internists are trained to care for patients with multi-system diseases.

At the HCIH, we are continuously establishing new centres of excellence and this is the case with the new Internal Medicine Department. These allow specialised practitioners to work in an inter-disciplinary method, which in turn leads to a wealth of knowledge and well above average competence which is to the great benefit of the patients, who receive state of the art medical care.

However, the goal of the new department is an integrative function including private practitioners with hospital privileges and referred physicians, who serve the patient’s well-being. The HCIH is taking another step forward to becoming a comprehensive provider of integrated medical services.

Care for patients with undefined symptoms and complaints (shortness of breath, chest pain, abdominal pain, back pain, etc.) who need help in diagnosing their illness.

Coordination of care from surgeons and other specialised care providers at HCIH

Preventive medicine screening.

Collaborative care of patients with chronic medical illnesses (high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, emphysema, etc.) throughout the various stages of their illness.

Comprehensive management of medical needs for hospitalised patients.
