Medical Facilities :: Diagnostic Unit - Laboratories
Laboratory medicine and pathology supports physicians at HC by performing testing services for diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations.
HCIH has its own multipurpose laboratory run by specialists in Clinical Analysis, Microbiology - Parasitology and Haematology - Hemotherapie, that as much allows a precise diagnosis in the preventive field as it can diagnose concrete pathologies within the hospital.
The laboratory specialists act as consultants to the doctors of HC for the interpretation of results and extension of analytical panels on the basis of scientific evidences that contribute additional data to the diagnosis, prognosis in pursuit of the patient.
The average time for the results of basic tests is approximately 4 hours.
Results that will include special tests (marking tumorlike, hormonal profile, serological tests, etc.) have a maximum waiting time of 24 hours.
The centre for extraction of samples is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week for urgent tests e.g. hemogram, coagulation, basic biochemistry.
The laboratory is quality controlled by SEQC and SEHH and can carry out a large selection of different tests, including;

In HCIH there is a transfusion service which carries out compatibility tests and can administer sanguineous derivatives, made in the Hospital, at any time.

spermiology tests
functional tests (provoked hyperglycemia, synacthen test, TRH test)

glycemia
triglycerides (lipid panel)
