24-Hour Doctor :: Staff on Duty
The HCIH 24-hour doctors are dedicated to respond to the needs of each individual and to guide the patient through the appropriate steps to ensure that he or she receives the right care at the right time and at any time.
An emergency doctor is present at the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, the patient’s doctor or his/her substitute can be contacted at any time, if necessary, through the hospital administration.
Our General and Intensive Care wards are on-call.
We offer at HCIH: Continuing medical care
Many of our patients need carefollowing their hospitalisation and the staff of the HCIH will be happy to work with your physician to see that your follow-up care, whatever form it may take, is appropriate for you.
Your after care may be as simple as a follow-up consultation in your physician's office at a later date, or it may include one or more of the following:
going home with assistance from a home-health aide, nurse, and/or physical therapist
going home with a nurse and follow-up from your physician;
going to a rehabilitation centre
Whichever case, we can work with your physician to find the best solution and to help you plan for your continuing medical care.
When you return home, you will probably think of some questions you did not ask while you were at HCIH, and you may have some new questions to ask.
We suggest the following:
For information about your condition or treatment, we suggest that you:
Call your physician during his or her office hours. At other times, you may call the Hospital switchboard and an operator will put you through with the emergency physician
If you have an emergency, do not hesitate to come to our Physicians. They are at HCIH 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
